Ghombie privacy policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Ghombie is a puzzle game for iPhone, iPad and Android made by Kanaventure (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@kanaventure.com.

The short version

  • There are no accounts and no sign-in. The game never asks for your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location.
  • Your progress is saved on your device.
  • The game uses Google services to show ads (Google AdMob), to ask for your consent where the law requires it, and to count how the game is played and report crashes (Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics). These services collect some device and usage information, described below.
  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent when you first open it, and counts how you play and sends crash reports only if you agree.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
  • We don't sell your personal information.

1. Saved on your device

The game keeps a save file on your device with your progress: the stages you've opened and the stars you've earned, your Potions, Brains and Crystal Balls, the hints you've opened, your daily challenges and streak, the tips you've seen, and your settings. This file stays on your device and is never sent to us. Deleting the game deletes it. On iPhone and iPad, your own iCloud or computer backup may include it, under Apple's terms.

2. Analytics and crash reports

To see where players get stuck and to fix bugs, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google.

In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and crash reports are sent only if you agree on Google's consent form, which appears when you first open the game. If you don't agree, nothing is sent: a crash report is deleted from your device instead. You can change your answer at any time in the game's Settings, under Privacy choices.

What is collected

  • How the game is played: events such as starting and finishing a stage (the stage, whether it was won, the steps taken, stars, time spent and hints used), the tips shown, your answers on game cards (for example when the zombie collapses), whether a video was watched, whether a purchase went through, and the screens you open. Also your highest stage and the game's version.
  • Device information: such as the device model, operating system and version, language and screen size.
  • A random ID for this installation of the game (Firebase installation ID), which isn't linked to your name or accounts.
  • Approximate location (country or region), which Google works out from your IP address.
  • Crash reports: when the game crashes or hits an error, technical details about the device and the game's code at that moment, and the screen and stage you were on.

What isn't collected or done

  • Analytics doesn't collect your device's advertising ID, and its data isn't used for advertising.
  • Nothing here includes your name, email address, contacts or precise location.

How long it's kept

Google keeps detailed analytics data for no more than 14 months and crash reports for 90 days, and then deletes them. Summary reports built from them (such as how many players finished stage 10) contain no IDs and may be kept longer.

3. Ads

Ghombie is free to play and shows ads from Google AdMob: videos you choose to watch for a reward, and a short ad you can skip after five wins in a row. Ads don't appear until you've played a little.

To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect information from your device, including its advertising identifier (on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking), your IP address, approximate location, device information and how you interact with the ads.

  • Your consent: where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game shows Google's consent form when you first open it, before any ads are shown or personalised. You can change your answer at any time in the game's Settings, under Privacy choices, which appears wherever the consent rules apply.
  • iPhone and iPad: the game asks for permission through Apple's tracking prompt. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, your advertising identifier isn't shared. You can change this later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings (under Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads, depending on the device).

4. Purchases

Purchases in the game are made through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. We never see or store your card or payment details. Apple or Google tells the game that a purchase went through, and the game checks this on your device and gives you the item. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google (see Support).

5. What the game doesn't do

  • No accounts, chat, friends lists or sharing with other players.
  • No access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or precise location.
  • We don't sell your personal information for money. Personalised ads from Google may count as “sharing” under some US state laws; you can turn them off as described in Ads.

6. Children

Ghombie is made for players aged 13 and over. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Ads: change your consent in Settings → Privacy choices (where it applies), and use your device's tracking and ads settings described above.
  • Your save: delete the game to delete it.
  • Analytics and crash reports: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, turn them on or off in Settings → Privacy choices.
  • Analytics and crash records: because the game has no accounts, we usually can't tell which records are yours. Reinstalling the game gives it a new random ID, and the old records expire as described in section 2.

Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the UK, California or India), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or limit how it's used, and to complain to your data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email support@kanaventure.com. We'll reply within the time the law requires.

  • Analytics and crash reports: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Personalised ads: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Non-personalised ads: our legitimate interest in keeping the game free to play.
  • Purchases: providing what you bought.

9. Who handles the data

The information above goes to Google (Firebase and AdMob) and, for purchases, to Apple or Google Play. They may process it in the United States and other countries, using safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We don't give your information to anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

10. Security

Everything the game sends is encrypted in transit. Your save stays on your device, protected by your device's own security.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the game starts collecting something new, we'll describe it here before the update that does so is released.
